The Beauty of Relationships

Be True to Your Love

You are the architect of your life and your relationships reflect your ability to expand, to give and to love. As Siri Marka explains, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line - the line of truth and clarity with your loved ones. One expansive practice is to sing the beautiful song May the Long Time Sun Shine Upon You - projecting a golden glow of love surrounding the ones you care about, and filling your own being with light and joy.

Giving and receiving love, why should it be at the expense of one person having to surrender dignity, self-respect and self-fulfillment? One needs to strike a balance between helpfulness on the one hand and self-respect. Too many of us are exploited in
one kind of relationship or another, fighting for recognition as a fellow human being with equal rights and expectations and this leads to much of the strife in this dimension - the desperate need for self-assertion and respect for oneself from others. One
cannot continue, relentlessly to give love, only to receive abuse and exploitation in any form, and hope to survive.
