Use Mental Floss

Lighten Your Load

You’re watching the scale, keeping off the extra pounds by eating right and exercising. Have you also considered the mental baggage that might be weighing you down? Are your mental “eating habits” stopping you from enjoying life to the fullest? Just as you work out your body at the gym, the mind can be trained as well. With a strong mind, you will be disciplined and flexible in your thinking, allowing creativity to flow.

When you don’t exercise your mind, it gets lazy, starts to think thoughts that aren’t productive and undermines the magnificence of your soul. When you find your thoughts turning to the negative, sit down for a couple minutes and deepen your breath. Allow each of these thoughts to pass by and float away, like leaves on a stream. Replace each negative thought with calm, supportive ones, then let those thoughts go too. Experience yourself in a “neutral” zone. Take a deep breath, get up and you’ll find your head is clearer and your step lighter.
