The Ultimate Cough Drop

A Sweet and Spicy Immune Booster

If it’s not already chilly where you live, it will be soon! The standard routine for dealing with the shift in temperature is drinking orange juice, because the vitamin C helps keep the bugs at bay. But if you really want to juice your system, the next time you feel that tickle in your throat, try something new: the ultimate immune-boosting, cough-suppressing, delicious, nutritious wonder-drop.

At the first sign of a cold, grab a spoon. Dig out a healthy portion of almond, peanut or cashew butter from its jar. Peel a clove of garlic and place it into the nutty spoonful. Chew thoroughly and enjoy.

Don’t be afraid! This sweet and spicy treat’s consistency prevents any garlic burn, and it’s surprisingly super-tasty. In fact, why wait for when you’re getting a cold? Have one anytime. Or more than one! Each time, you will give your immune system, your glands and your heart a loving kick-start.

What if garlic tends to be too hot for you and causes stomach/digestive issues?
Any other suggestions?

There are many different remedies for warding off colds & flu--most important is to keep your immune system strong on a regular basis. If you'd like to give the garlic a go, try eating applesauce or yogurt beforehand and then 1/4 piece of garlic in the nut butter. There are also garlic tablets, that are less intense on the stomach.
