The Skinny on Milk
Got Truth?

They say the gods live in a land of milk and honey. But what kind of milk? We are the only species that drinks the milk of other species. Milk is defined as "a fluid secreted by the mammary glands of females for the nourishment of their young." So cow's milk is an excellent food for the growth of bones… in calves, not humans.
Casein, the protein found in milk, is extremely hard for most people to digest. In fact, the white, chalky, paste-like material is used as a major ingredient in making Elmer’s Glue. Casein is also very acidic and to neutralize the amount of acid produced by drinking milk, the body actually draws calcium away from its own bones to restore pH balance. So the truth is cow's milk actually makes your bones weaker! So let Bossie off the hook and enjoy almond, rice, or soy milk. Your bones will thank you!

I appreciate that retraction. Of course It is my belief that Cows are the mothers of people - We humans are essentially an animal that depends on the cow's life giving milk protein, leather, physical labour and fertilizer for our own survival. We mistreat the cows, and the products of cows, this is what leads to unhealthy properties of dairy products. But if we harmonize with the cows, giving them the respect they deserve, their beautiful and healthful properties will resonate within us, and emerge as radiance. Don't you agree?
Does the processing of almond, soy and rice milk affect the health benefits in any way? Thanks.
Freshly made is always the best way to go, of course and I'm sure some nutritional value is lost by packaging these milks for mass consumption. Most of the companies that make almond, soy and rice milk, however, are aware of who they are marketing to and that their products are consumed for health benefits, especially by children, so we can assume that they do the best they can to minimize any diminishing of the nutritional value. We received quite a few messages about this particular "mint" and would like to respond to any concerns you may have about drinking milk. We are aware that there are many differing opinions and studies and philosophical approaches to what we do and don't eat and why. No one way is perfect and most have good value in some respects. We reviewed our "milk" article and realized that we had come out a little stronger than we meant to, in saying that milk wasn't a healthy food. It depends on many factors. Originally, the article had been about refuting the supposition that milk "builds strong bones" and then went in a slightly different direction. Suffice it to say, that we are not the "authority" on how anyone should live their lives and respect those who do their best to live consciously on this planet. We will be more aware in the future to always offer options and not the definitive word on any subject.
