Take a Walk

See the World at a Slower Pace

Rush, rush, go, go, speed of light, time’s a wastin’…Whoa! Take a breath and take a walk. These days, everyone is in the habit of attuning life to the ever-ticking clock. So much so that you can really miss out on that great counsel: “…the journey is as important as the destination.”

Every once in awhile, when your car breaks down and you're cut off from your go-go-go machine, you walk instead, you become aware, that the route you’ve driven hundreds of times has amazing extras you've missed! The landscape, exotic flowers, bugs and birds, cats and creatures, all the sounds and smells are new and invigorating. You experience a peaceful feeling in the rhythm of your walk. Your breath moves at the gentle pace of life. But why wait for the car to malfunction? Walk to work, or at least from work to your lunch place and back. Give walking a chance. And if you happen to see some roses along the way, stop and put your nose right down in those petals and inhale deeply.

I walk around all the time and I don't drive. I love it. I learn so much from nature just by looking at it!
