Ayurvedic Oil Pulling

The ancient therapy of oil pulling puts a whole new meaning into oral care. Oil pulling is an Ayurvedic technique traditionally used to heal headaches, bronchitis, tooth pain, thrombosis, eczema, chronic sleeplessness and ulcers. This safe and simple home remedy gets at the root cause of disease by utilizing the bio-chemistry of your saliva with the ability of certain oils to pull toxins from the body.
In the morning, before brushing your teeth and on an empty stomach, place 1 tablespoon of unrefined sesame, sunflower or coconut oil in your mouth. Add a drop of oregano oil once a week as an anti-bacterial agent. Roll the oil around with your tongue for 15 to 20 minutes, pushing and pulling it through your teeth, while being careful not to swallow any of the oil. After 15 to 20 minutes, spit out the oil. It will have turned white. Thoroughly rinse your mouth with water; then brush your teeth. Try oil pulling and discover the magical healing properties in your mouth!
