Saving Face

Wash Your Window

Your face is your grace. As your window to the world, your face telegraphs what’s going on inside of you. Believe it or not, bringing a little extra awareness to this prime locale can tell you a lot about yourself—both inside and out. It’s like giving a “window-washing” to your psyche and more!

Take a moment and close your eyes. Become still. Notice any muscle tension or nervous activity in your face and then breathe relaxation into those areas. Envision your face embodying an inner serenity. Calmly breathe into the places where you are holding tension (around the eyes, jaw, forehead, lips) and pay attention to what arises in your mind when you make these encounters. Now open your eyes and as you go through your day take notice of areas of relaxation and tension. Soon this awareness will translate to your whole being, giving your face a big lift and helping you to relax in a whole new way!

Try to also relax the roof of the mouth, letting the tongue rest down towards the bottom of the mouth and allowing the arch of the roof of the mouth to open and expand.

This will also help to relax the pelvic floor.

This is a great mini escape!
I love the advice to relax the tongue and mouth. This blog is very inspiring, I have a yoga blog of my own.
