Peppercorn Power

The King of Spices

You may think of black pepper as the companion to salt, but it is so much more! Peppercorns have been cultivated since ancient times. The dried fruit of the flowering Pipa Nigram vine, native to tropical rain forests, boasts incredible therapeutic value, containing an impressive list of health-promoting essential oils, minerals, phytochemicals and anti-oxidants. These compounds remove harmful free radicals, assist in weight loss, and help fight cancer and aging by promoting a strong immune system.

A time-honored anti-arthritic remedy is a “peppercorn bath.” Place a cup of peppercorns (or a few drops of black pepper oil) in your hot-water bathtub and soak for 30 minutes to remove joint pain. Peppercorns also support your digestive system, known to be an age-old way to prevent stomach gas and indigestion when sprinkled on salads and watermelons. Grind it fresh into your recipes (adding last to retain the fragrant essential oils). Put some spice into your life with the power of the peppercorn!
