Wash Your Hair the Yogi Way

Here in the West, as the summer approaches and the body begins to detox. Its natural processes are most often not understood and health benefits are lost, due to cultural no-no’s. So try an ancient experiment: wash your hair the yogi way!

Find a shampoo with healthy, non-sulfate ingredients. When applying, thoroughly massage your scalp. Take your time. After rinsing, let you hair dry in the sun, if at all possible. This will infuse your system with vitamin D. Once dry, lightly apply sandalwood, coconut, or your choice of edible oils and gently comb out your hair. These oils support the body’s natural oil production and strengthen the fibers of your hair. Now, here’s the hardest part for most Westerners: Don’t shampoo again for a week for men, and 3-4 days for ladies (exceptions can be made for sports). During this time feel free to rinse your hair when you shower and definitely comb in some more oil. Let the compulsive shampooing end! Your hair needs to replenish itself and after just one week, when the natural oils return, your locks will be silky, smooth, and yogi-strong!
