Eyes of the Beholder

Expanding Your Vision

From birth, you are intimately drawn into the world around you through your eyes. Colors, light, movement—all this information gets processed by your brain and filtered through your emotions to become your reality. Conversely, your eyes are also the windows to your soul. So it is no surprise that “how” you see is just as important as “what” you see. To be truly visionary, try some eye exercises that stimulate your mind to open up the possibilities for new ways of seeing.

If you are feeling limited, fearful or a bit out of focus, you might explore the soft eye technique (as taught in neuro-linguistic programming), expanding your peripheral vision and promoting increased mental relaxation. One of the simplest ways to open up your world is to make eye contact. Your brain center is actually wired to “reward” you for making eye contact with fellow humans. So the next time you go out into the world, be sure to open your eyes wide to the full spectrum of all that surrounds you.
