Exercise Choice
Jazz Up Your Workout

In the 1950s, we moved our hips with hula hoops, in the 80’s we pulled on leg warmers and bounced to an aerobic beat. We’ve jogged, salsa-danced and kickboxed to keep in shape. Today, we stretch and sweat with hot yoga or cool grooves—and the beat goes on. You’ve probably tried a number of fitness fads to raise your endorphins and stay healthy. Maybe you’ve even invested in exercise equipment that is gathering more dust than duty. So, how can you choose a workout routine that uplifts you and inspires you to move every day?
When it comes to exercise, there is no “one size fits all”…that’s why it’s fine to mix it up. Swimming is great for low-impact aerobics, walking can be meditative or social, yoga calms the mind and makes you more flexible. Think of exercise not as a “chore” to be endured, but as a wonderful smorgasbord of experiences. Belly dancing, flying yoga and rock climbing can expand your horizons. Join a friend at their weekly salsa dancing class, take up martial arts, train for a triathlon and dare to try something new and fun. Shake up your routine and jazz up your life!
