Bee-Friend Your Throat
Honey-Lemon Remedy

No one likes a sore throat, but we all get them from time to time. Throat inflammation and pain are often the result of bacterial or viral infection, hampered by seasonal allergies, swollen glands or open mouth breathing. You can help prevent a sore throat with daily tongue-scraping, as well as using a neti pot and taking Vitamin C supplements. When you do get the occasional sore throat from colds or over-use, there’s a wonderful natural home remedy to help you out...honey and lemon.
Honey’s antibacterial properties work against many kinds of bacteria and lemon’s bioflavanoids are thought to enhance the anti-microbial effects of honey. To make your sore throat remedy, boil some water and pour into a mug. Add 1-4 teaspoons of honey and the juice of half a lemon. As you sip slowly, let the steam from the hot beverage and the warmth of the honey-lemon water soothe and coat your throat. With loving care, your throat will be sore no more!
