A Nose for Yoga
Lotus Point Focus

The lotus flower symbolizes the spiritual quest, its beauty gracing the surface of the water, while beneath the surface it sends its roots deep into the mud. Just so, your mind can be like the peaceful lotus, even as you live in the everyday world. The key is to keep the mind focused and neutral. Yogis have a special technique for calming the mind…and it’s right at the tip of your nose. Using Lotus Point Focus (Agiaa Chakra Bandh) you can control your mind, channel negative thoughts and develop intuition.
Whenever you want to stop negative thoughts, simply meditate on the tip of the nose for a few seconds or several minutes (with eyes mostly or fully closed) as you breathe long and deep. This eye focus stimulates the frontal lobe of the brain through the optic nerve, allowing your mind to center and balance. So, for those times when your “monkey mind” gets the better of you, practice this powerful yogic exercise that’s as close as your nose!
