Beat the Bug
Super Flu Tea Recipe

Swine Flu, Avian Flu, Human Flu—Oh My! What to do when the flu arrives? The most important thing is to build and maintain a strong immune system by eating, moving and thinking in healthful ways on a daily basis. That said, there are times when we could all use a boost to our system to ward off the latest circulating bug. One of those immune boosters is a yogic tonic dubbed “Flu Tea” and marries two unlikely partners: pepper and pomegranate.
Place 2-3 tablespoons of whole black peppercorns in a pot, along with 4-5 cups of water and bring to a boil. Simmer for 20 minutes. This is your “peppercorn extract.” You can then store it in a glass jar in the refrigerator to have on hand for your daily drink. In a glass, mix together 1/2 cup of the peppercorn extract with 1/2 cup of pomegranate juice. Drink it hot, cold or room temperature for a super-boost to your immune system and beat whatever flu that comes flying in.
Can also be used in a small daily amount as a cold/flu preventative. 1 tsp per day especially during the seasonal changes.
Do I ever have feed back! Thanks for the suggestion. I had forgotten about this potent recipe. Since finding it on Yogamint I have been using the pepper/pomegranate tea with great success. While some people very close to me got very sick... I didn't and I am feeling really great and healthy. Now I have one big cup in the morning and take a whole bottle to work with me...
