Sweet Potato Hummus & Varuyus Kriya
The alignment of the earth and our bodies is undeniable - we are made up of the same essential chemical elements, follow the life cycles of conception-birth-death and are ruled by the seasonal changes as the planet tilts and rotates around the sun. Eating in tune with the climate where you live and the seasons as they change, feeds the body in a way that is natural and harmonious. It's the same with your yoga practice. If you live in a colder climate, doing more energetic, "firey" kriyas is your ticket and for warmer climates, a bit more of the cooling, relaxing yoga is the best bet.
In this episode of Food & Flow, Melissa shares a recipe for Sweet Potato Hummus that will be a favorite for years to come. (It was with the film crew - we ate every last bit.) Camilla asks you to bring some of your yogi mojo to the mat with Varuyus Kriya - a challenging exercise that brings the energy up from the root chakra and channels it into the higher centers. Both are guaranteed to get you in touch with your root strength.
